Project Safety Files

In Ireland and the U.K. the production of the Safety File is a legal requirement called up under Construction Regulations.

The PSDP (Project Supervisor Design Process) or the CDM Coordinator is responsible for preparing the Safety File and for handing this over to the building owner at project completion.

The PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) is responsible for gathering all information from the contractors and sub contractors and for issuing this to the PSDP so that it can be compiled into the Safety File.

The work of collecting, collating and preparation of the documents needed for the Safety File together with O&M Manuals etc. is very time consuming and needs full time attention to ensure that the Safety file is prepared in time for project handover.

Delays in the preparation of the Safety File can hold up the successful handover of a project and so can lead to financial penalties etc. due to missed deadlines.
DFM SYSTEMS provide a service to Main Contactors and the PSCS and can work on their behalf to ensure that the information is collected on time and presented in the format required by the PDSP.
